Opening at Bernadaud, the French Porcelain manufacturer

"Un peu de terre sur la peau" is the title of the wonderful exhibition of the exclusive French porcelain manufacturer Berndaud that opened on June 15th in the French city Limoges. Hannah Bauhoff has seen how beautiful “plain earth” can look on skin during the opening. She recommends: visit until October 16th the Foundation Berndadaud in 27, avenue Albert Thomas, Limoges and have a look at the beautiful designs.

Interview François Roche – R&Sie(n) Architects

The buildings designed by R&Sie(n) have many facets – but not always facades. At times they are as light as textile, lend multi-storey car parks sweeping, dynamic lines or assume the strange proportions of a bacterium enlarged millions of times under an electron microscope. Is this all chance? Not exactly. Indeed, the architecture that François Roche and Stéphanie Lavaux have been producing in their Paris studio for more than 20 years now turns out to be an intelligent combination of local resources and highly-developed technology. Charlotte Perriand Show

Retrospective on Basquiat at Fondation Beyeler

The art of Jean-Michel Basquiat (1960-1988) possesses the same intensity and energy that marked his brief life. In the course of only eight years he succeeded in creating an extensive oeuvre and introducing new figurative and expressive elements in contemporary art. On the occasion of his fiftieth birthday, the Fondation Beyeler is devoting the first large exhibition ever held in Europe to this outstanding American painter. Visting Erich John, designer of the

He was one of the first four official designers in East Germany – and one of the most successful. Erich John has designed the typewriter “Erika” as well as the shaver “Bebo Sher”. But his most well known object is the famous World Time Clock, a continually rotating installation that shows the time across the globe on the Alexander Platz in Berlin’s central district.
